I drove around randomly, worrying about the sun, and suddenly I found rows of trees with strangly red fruit, planted around one of Villach’s schools.
No leaves, only thousand of red berries. In size they almost approximated cherries, but they were densely clustered along the twigs. Some of them were already foulish brown, many were still in red splendor. Any idea what that is?
Color is so precious these days. Here are some red and white berries on a fence. Or are these white blossoms? I have no idea 🙂
The Song of the Day is “Red Berries” by Round Mountain Girls. Hear it on YouTube.
Even on a cloudy winter day there’s color to be found. You just have to look for it 😀
The Song of the Day is “Seein’ Red” by Edmond Hall. I’ve already used it in “924 – The Art Of Not Seein’ Red” and in “1496 – Seein’ Red“, but at least that’s long enough since, that you may have forgotten just as I did 🙂

I don’t know why these pears go to waste. They just do. They fall from the tree on a field and simply rot.
The trees they grow on are old, I suppose at least 50 years, and that may explain it. In former times they might have been collected, squeezed in a must press, and although must made from pears has always been regarded as inferior to that pressed of apples, it may have sold then.
Anyway, here they lie on the ground, 50 meters from our home, and if they serve no other purpose now, they still found their way on my blog. Flickr has the full size.
I don’t have many songs with “Onion” in the title, thus Lambert, Hendricks & Ross’ “Home Cookin'” will have to do 🙂

Last weekend was rather rainy, but we had a few sunny moments.
I used one of them to take some images of an apple tree. While I was there, I met a professional camera man who made test videos with a Canon C100 Cinema EOS Camera.
This is one of Canon’s specialist video cameras based on DSLR technology. It’s an impressive piece of technology, but seeing it made me immediately love my OM-D E-M5 for its small size and low weight 🙂
The Song of the Day is “Apples And Pairs” from the 2010 Slow Club album “Yeah, So”. Hear it on YouTube.
I found these nuts on a wall along river Drau in Villach. Someone must have cracked them and forgot to dispose of the shell. May have been a bird though 🙂
The Song of the Day is “Nutty” by Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane. Hear it on YouTube.
