Along the sides of the cloister of Lisbon’s Cathedral we find a few altars. The one in the Image of the Day is dedicated to Saint Antony of Padova, surprisingly a man born in Lisbon. I certainly didn’t know that.
The image of the gate and the following image show the same altar, just that I have taken the second image with the camera threaded in between the staves and held behind the gate. Sometimes it’s good to have a small camera 🙂
The guy on the cross is of course Jesus Christ, but the interesting thing is, the one lying below Jesus’ cross in a coffin, that’s also Jesus Christ. Thus we have to read this altar like a comic book.
