The Image of the Day shows the outstanding masterpiece among São Roque’s altars, the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist.
It was designed and built in Italy, consecrated by the Pope, and then transported to Lisbon in three ships.
Of course none of these alters can be considered less than a work of art, but still, the ranking is obvious 🙂
