2120 - Low Rider's Blues

Not that there is a general dearth of bicycle images on this blog, but we didn’t have that many in the last weeks either.

Well, don’t fear, my love for bicycles did not come to a sudden end. Here are two of them waiting for their riders and one being in heavy action 🙂

I didn’t really plan the Image of the Day. I just saw the boy, his father was somewhere on the other side of the street, out of sight, and I hesitated, you know, photographing children has become pretty much of a taboo these days, but in the end I liked the image of the forlorn boy too much and I took it.

The Song of the Day is “Low Rider’s Blues” by Blind Willie McTell. Hear it on YouTube.

Perfect - and you are right, these are not the times nor the place where you can get away easily when caught snapping other people's kids. Not that I would like to live in the U.S. (for many reasons), but the less cramped relationship to street photography could make photographers' lives much easier.

Yeah, right, as long as you don't take photos of police officers. I know, it's been decided legal in Washington DC (or was it New York?), but I wouldn't try it in Mississippi or in Arizona 😄
