1990 - So Young

The weather was slightly overcast most of the day and I really had no intention of going out photographing. When it cleared up in late afternoon, I couldn’t resist though.

This image more or less happened. I stood there, not even half convinced, taking an image of the landscape, when suddenly this girl ran into my view. I was lucky and in the end I think it became quite a nice Spring picture.

The Song of the Day is “So Young” from The Corrs’ 1999 “Unplugged” album. Hear it on YouTube.

You're right - it's a very nice photo and would have been with or without the young lady, though I think overall it's more of a plus with her. Kind of serendipitous.

I always cherish these moments where you stand before a scene unsure why you have a compulsion to make a photo of a scene that seems to hold nothing or say little and even as your fingers play with the controls of the camera you wonder 'what is here that I can't see'. And then, out of the blue, something changes just as you bring the viewfinder to your eye and of course you're ready and you click and you smile or sometimes, just laugh out loud. Beautiful scene Andreas.

Yes, exactly. I even hesitated for a moment, but only so long as to let her reach the perfect spot. It was somehow almost automatic 🙂
