And here’s a quick follow-up, taken late this afternoon, under the weak rays of a tired sun.
Like in the last post, the Song of the Day is “Gone Again”, title song of Patti Smith’ 1996 album. Powerful music as always. Hear it on YouTube.

Well, so far there are plenty of insects and I am their prey 😄
I like the square format...think I'll buy a Hasselblad H4D-50 instead of a car. Or not. I oftentimes am able to crop my Nikon shots to a square format and have acceptable images. If not, c'est le vie! I still have the image! John
Well, Ted Byrne once taught me his method of making squares. Open the image in Photoshop, go to crop mode, span up a square, make it proportionally smaller (Alt-Shift-CornerDrag), and then shift the square around inside the image, if you feel like that even rotate it. You'll be surprised. It's just like looking through a viewfinder, and you'll notice that there is hardly an image without a good square in it 🙂

As in your previous image, I see crossing diagonals. I also see winter food for the birds when there are no insects about.
