1029 - The Lantern

It’s Friday, I’m on the train to Carinthia as I’m writing this, and like on all Fridays I didn’t have much time for photography.

In the morning I managed to take these two images though.

Technically it’s pretty similar to what I did in the last post: controlling contrast, enhancing saturation and overlaying a soft pastel effect with Snap Art.

The Song of the Day is “The Lantern” from the 1967 Rolling Stones album “Their Satanic Majesties Request”. I couldn’t find a video of the original, but at least there is a not too bad cover on YouTube. If you don’t know the album (which is not likely), it should at least give you an idea.

I have noticed that your snap art filter sometimes makes huge mono coloured areas look like suffering from strong jpeg compression. Wonder if I could simulate your filter by partly applying jpeg compression (q level 1), combined with a blur... Sorry, just thinking loud, without knowing why. 🙂
